For the commemoration of May 8, 1945, Étienne GUILLET Sub-Prefect of the Trinity – Saint-Pierre, Alfred MARIE-JEANNE President of the Executive Council of the CTM and Christian RAPHA Mayor of Saint-Pierre were gathered to pay tribute to the soldiers who gave their Lives for the Nation.
They laid two wreaths at the foot of the war memorial on the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, then greeted the veterans, the trades in charge of our security (Firefighter, Municipal Police, Military). The shadow of René BRAMBAN our 1st deputy, who died in October 2016, hovered over this square of the Town Hall in a rain, which did not want to miss this opportunity to pay tribute to us brave fighters.
